I know it’s after Memorial Day and that is the unofficial start to summer and I guess I should have been on the ball with getting this blog post out before that but here in Colorado it has been unseasonably chilly this past May. I’m hoping typing this will bring warmer weather so we can get to the pool and get to relaxing and get this summer going!
Young Living makes so many wonderful products so if you haven’t branched out into anything but their essential oils now is a great time! All of these products have essential oils in them though which in one of the many reasons I love Young Living. (Click here to read why I choose Young Living over any other EO company.) All of these YL products in this post I actually use year round but are ever more my must haves for the summertime. I know once you fall in love with them like I did you will want to use them everyday too.
With all the talk about the nasty chemicals from sunscreens getting into our bloodstream and some of those chemicals may lead to cancer, it makes you not want to step out into the sun. With a five year old son and living in Colorado, and of course loving the sunshine, that is not an option. I’m so thankful I have an alternative with YL’s Mineral Sunscreen.
It is all natural, chemical-free, water resistant, and rubs in easily without leaving that white residue. If your like me looking like a ghost is not what I’m going for sitting by the pool. I could never rub in the white when trying other natural sunscreens years ago. We’ve tested YL’s Sunscreen at the pool, in the mountains, and playing outside. This is one sunscreen that won’t let you down.
I never really thought to much about insect repellent until I had my son and got into that protective mama bear mode so he wouldn’t get bit. Well that also got me looking at the ingredients that insect repellents are made with and those toxins are something I don’t want on my son or myself. Young Living’s Insect Repellent uses essential oils in their ingredients that historically have been used to keep bugs off. It smells great and makes me feel great using it on my son because there are no synthetic chemicals in it and works amazing.
Here’s an easy way use and travel with the Insect Repellent: get a glass spray bottle, fill half with witch hazel and half with the insect repellent. That’s it, just shake and spray to enjoy to the great outdoors even if it’s just your backyard.
This is going to be your go to partner in crime this summer! From minor burns, minor cuts, sunburns, scrapes, insect bites, and minor skin irritations this wonderful LavaDerm Spray will help you for any little thing that might pop up. It helps with pain, irritation, and prevention of the peeling of skin. I love the sun a little too much and this product helps me so much when mom brain happens and I forget that extra application of sunscreen at the pool.
Pro Tip: keep it in the kitchen, with knives and hot pans your skin will need some seriously quick action, LavaDerm is not just for after the sun!
I don’t know any woman that wouldn’t give for smoother skin especially when sitting in their swim suit by the pool. Cel-lite Magic is that smoothing magic! Rub daily on trouble spots like thighs or butt or heck if you like me… all over! The grapefruit essential oil helps with the appearance of skins texture and it also has juniper oil to help cleanse it. It smells like summer and makes your body ready for summer.
I use the Cel-Lite Magic Massage Oil every night 1- to let the oils really soak into my skin and 2- because it has a citrus oil and is photosensitive and I don’t want to be out in the sun right after I put it on. Use with dry brushing or a fasciablaster for some awesome results!
This is a necessary product literally all the time but traveling and going on outings more in the summer will prompt you to want to get the yuck off even more. The other hand sanitizers you can get from the stores are made with toxins and can actually kill the good bacteria in your body and end up do more harm them good. The Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier not only safe for your little ones but it also cleanses, purifies, and soothes skin, with a wonderful scent. It also come in a convenient travel size! Once you try the Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier you won’t go back to the alternative.
With the hot weather also means you need to be drinking more water. Slique Essence is a blend of dietary essential oils that can be added to your water (use a glass, stainless steel, or ceramic container, no plastic) for a sweet refreshing taste. It’s a delicious combo of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, spearmint, and ocotea with stevia extrct. It not only helps your drink more water but it also help control hunger cravings and manage your weight. (These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Young Living products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.)
I also add my Slique Essence oil into my ice tea too for a refreshing afternoon pick me up!
